Steven Pies

Steven Lee Pies, 73, of Madrid, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2025 after a two-year battle with cancer.

Steve was born on January 3, 1952, to Henry and Betty (Ahrens) Pies of Madrid. Steve graduated from Madrid High School in 1970. He attended Iowa State University and graduated in 1975 with a degree in Agronomy. Steve was a lifelong farmer in Madrid.

Steve was united in marriage with Nancy J. Kendall on November 29, 1975.

Steve loved farming, hunting, hanging out with friends in his shop, and traveling.

Steve is survived by his wife Nancy, brother Kent, sister-in-law Jennifer, nephew Dylan, and many relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. A private family burial is planned. Memorial contributions can be sent to Fairview Cemetery in Madrid.
